The Savannah Shag Club is a social club which was started in 1988.  We do what we grew up doing in Savannah a jitter bug type of dance.  Since Carolina is right across the river, more and more members became exposed to the
"Carolina Shag".  So as our club grew and the influence of swing crept into the shag, we do a little of all of it.  Our main focus of the club is to enjoy the music and dance.  We have found here in Savannah, that no matter what style
of dance you do, it's still the same music.  Dance floors are at a premium as more and more hotels/motels, rebuild and don't allow for large ballrooms.  We encourage everyone to support their local dance locations.  

We are members of the American Bop Association and also the Association of Carolina Shag Clubs    

  Where We Dance

On Wednesday Nights we are at Doubles Lounge located in the Quality Inn Midtown.  We start at 7 pm
On Friday Nights we are at the American Legion Post 36, We usually Start around 7:30 pm

        Where We Meet
We hold our monthly meeting at the American Legion Post 36, the last Saturday of the month.
